Coming together?

The Pens played their best game of the year, beating their division mates, the Islanders, 5-1. Some brief observations:

- Recchi plays great on the penalty kill
- Multi-point nights for the call ups Whitney and Christensen. They have really been a great addition
- Caron solid again in net
- Crosby is the dominate player with 2 goals and an assist.

There was a brief defensive lapse in the 2nd when the Isles made it 2-1. After that they settled back down.

You can kinda see the chemistry coming together w/ this team a little bit. This game was what we all envisioned in the off season. 3 wins in the last 4 and heading to Boston.

Unfortunately everything fell apart in Boston. The first goal was a floater that Caron somehow missed. After that the team apparently figured they didn't have to play any form of defense and when they decided to start playing again the refs were more than happy to hand cheap penalties out. It was a very ugly game. They didn't put any pressure on shots from the point and Caron couldn't handle the slappers Slegr put on him. Hopefully they just forget this one and come back strong tonight at MSG.

It sounds like we did a bit better last night. I missed the game, but a road win against a team that has played well this season is always welcome. It seems Caron is the starter now. Is there something wrong with T-Bo or is Edzo making the switch?
