Don Cherry, 71 Criticizes Sidney Crosby, 18
AHL lifer and Canadian hockey's resident bitter old man recently attacked Sidney Crosby for allegedly backing Edzo's firing, getting named assistant captain and "yapping at the referees, doing the whole thing, golden boy,".
LA Times Article details Cherry's apparent grudge against the rookie that has done nothing but work hard and draw badly needed fans and media attention to the NHL.
Crosby is taking the high road against this ratings desperate tool.

Face it, this guy is nothing more than Canada's Lee Corso, perhaps with more of an attitude. He says stupid, outrageous stuff to boost Hockey Night in Canada's ratings.
I wonder if he complained when Yzerman was named alternate captain in his 2nd year?
Cherry's idea of hockey is fights with intermittent hitting and the occasional goal. Basically ECHL stuff. He loves guys like Cam Neely who were slow, big and fought often. He fails to realize that style of play directly lead to the boring neutral-zone-trap hockey of the late 90's and early 00's.
If Crosby was a quiet player and never said anything Cherry would complain about that too. I would think that Cherry would have had bad things to say about Gretzky too, and if he didn't then it points out that he is a hero worshipper who tries to rip-up other players so they don't look as good as Gretzky (like he used to rip-up Mario).
