Russian Tribunal Says Nyet to Malkin in the NHL

Just the term "Russian Tribunal" conjures up scarey images of big burly Russians smoking cigarettes and screaming in between gulps of vodka.

TSN.ca reports on the latest in the drama that has no end. Basically the Russians are saying he legally can't play anywhere but Magnitogorsk (big shock), the NHL is saying "we'll take a look", Malkins people are saying they'll say something "at the appropriate time" and the Pens (who are already marketing the kid everywhere) are saying that he'll be in camp as expected.

One wonders if he can be expected to perform on the ice with all these chaotic machinations of international business law swirling around him.

You would assume this could all be resolved with a fat check but the NHL and the Pens in particular aren't going to be in a financial position to write one any time soon.

As Cope would say "Hmm Ha".
